Love this idea. Eating seasonal and local food is so important to getting variety and proper nutrients in your food. I especially love this time of year, roasting veg like Parsnips, Carrots. Tasty nutritious and warming. Plus goes so well with Game.
What’s in Season?
Natural food is at its peak when it’s in season. This is when it’s freshest, bursting with taste and at its most nutritious. Seasonal meat and produce that is in abundance is also likely to be cheaper. Eating with nature’s cycle, like our ancestors, means we can eat food when it’s at its best and also keep our diet varied throughout the seasons. Check out what’s in season for each month of the year so you can get the best out of your meals and live in tune with earth’s resources.

Great post. I think people often assosiate the cold winter months with a lack variety in terms of seasonal produce but I think this proves that there is plenty about.
I have found that if you talk to people who own allotments, you will often find that they have some wonderful seasonal produce avaiable. I managed to get a bin liner full of kale a few months ago in return for helping someone dig up some soil!

I agree, seasonal produce is the best way to get optimal nutrition. It really opens up your eyes to the huge array of food out there.

I think that’s a great idea. Getting to know a local farmer, or having your own allotment will enable you to have easy access to produce. Bin liner full of kale must have lasted a while. Great exchange.
