Paleo Brownies

These paleo brownies are so delicious and moist – you really have to try them! Words do not do them justice. See how we made these scrumptious treats.

Recipe

Makes approx 12 brownies
  • 150g chopped pitted dates
  • 180ml hot water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp ground coffee / espresso coffee
  • 50g organic cocoa powder
  • 80g almond flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F/175 C and grease a baking tin (8×8).
  2. Blend together dates, water, coconut oil, vanilla, and coffee until smooth.
  3. Add remaining dry ingredients to a separate bowl and mix.
  4. Mix together blended wet ingredients & dry ingredients. Use a mixer or blend by hand till completely combined.
  5. Pour brownie batter into prepared tin and spread evenly.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until brownies are set.
  7. Cool on wire rack for 20-30 minutes, then chill in fridge before cutting into squares.

    • Hi Nicola, these brownies are more of a treat so would only eat these very occasionally. Also we see Paleo about making good choices so if we do make a dessert, we’d rather know exactly what is going in it and make it ourselves. The regular recipe would be 70 flour, 400g sugar & 250g butter so this paleo version is a far better choice if you want something sweet :)

  1. Hi! I know this recipe was a while ago now but i was just wondering if the cocoa you used was unsweetened? If not could i use stevia with unsweetened cacao instead? Thanks! They look delicious!
